How does it work?

SmallStock is a financial network for sharing stock related notifications between users. How does it work? The network is built from "notifiers" and "subscribers", every user in the network can be BOTH a notifier and a subscriber. As a subscriber you can subscribe and receive other users’ notifications, and as a notifier you can publish your own notifications to all of your subscribers.

SmallStock is an open network meaning every user can subscribe to any user he likes, all he has to know is the other user's nickname, so if someone wants to get your notification he just has to know your nickname and add you as notifier, you have to do nothing in order to manage this distribution list. On the other hand, if you want to stop receiving notifications from a certain user you can do it immediately by removing him from the notifiers list, you don’t need to ask him to do that, it’s in your hands!

As a SmallStock notifier you can manage your subscribers list by defining your own networks to control who receive which notification, in that way you can post specific notifications to specific users.

For example let’s take the following fictive users: Joe, Sean, Lynda & Sara – the first 3 users (Joe, Sean and Lynda) added Sara as notifier, now Sara read an interesting post in a certain forum and wants to share this post with her friends, so she is publishing a new notification and linking it to the post’s url, the three will instantly get this notification to their SmallStock inbox, if they are using SmallStock Desktop Application the notification will also arrive directly to their desktop (just like a Messenger message) and they can enjoy that post as well. Now let’s say that Sara wanted to publish this notification only to Sean & Lynda, her best friends, so she could create a private network (call it “best friends”) and when publishing the notification she could have choose to publish this notification only to the “best friends” network, as a result only Sean & Lynda would have received this notification…
